The Conductor's Reference is intended to be a user-friendly resource for conductors, students, and teachers. It was created by Corey Seapy in partial fulfillment of the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, and is being maintained and updated periodically.

I have been incredibly lucky to study with some of the great conductors of our time. In doing so, I've learned that the study of conducting (like that of any art) is best accomplished through apprenticeship. While there is no substitute for face-to-face interaction and collaboration with great artists, there is also no limit to the number of ways apprenticeship can occur. Attending rehearsals, performances, masterclasses, and lectures can provide invaluable insight for any artist. And, thanks to the internet, an immense body of artistic insight is always at our fingertips. I am enjoying the process of perusing Youtube, a major player in the online artistic exchange, in an effort to curate a video collection that is of specific interest to conductors. It is my hope that this website allows easy access to something of value that enhances and deepens your artistry, and/or that of your students. If nothing else, I trust that the videos and other resources included here will further your love of music!
